We Deserve 2 See those Photos..We Are Not Too Weak 2 See Them!!!

I knew it. The President decided not to release the photos of bin Laden. '' We don't trot this stuff out as trophies'', Obama said in a TV interview. He sure didn't waste time to brag about having him killed.

I'm sorry, I don't believe he's dead. Yeah, I know. I'm one of those. He (prez) needed something to get off him about the birth certificate thing, about the rising gas prices, jobs, economy. As soon as it was released by the White House about killing him and burying him at sea the next day his poll numbers rise.

It would inflame things if we release these photos. Anything inflames these people, when they killed our people and beheaded them, drugged them thru the streets they were celebrating. Shooting and dancing in the streets. Please, these photos will inflame them.

It's a bunch of bull crap. They said there are already conflicting stories coming to light. The White House released the story of the raid too early before they got the full story..before the seals were debriefed. Now they want to slow things down and not inflame people. BULL CRAP.

Don't believe he's dead. DNA evidence isn't back in one day, the courts tell you that all the time, takes weeks and it's not like it is on tv. Yeah, I know it's the White House, but even they can't produce proof that quick. And since when do they want to be buried at sea. I see graves all the time, their families crying over them, now a day after they kill him he's dumped in the sea. Bull Crap!!!!

What the Hell??Stop all this Online job Application only crap!!

I have been looking for a job. What's wrong with these damn companies??? I have gone into groceries stores just to fill out and app for a part time job. You know what they tell me. Go to their website and fill out the application there and if they like it they'll call you. What the hell????

What has happened to going in and filling out it in person? You know maybe getting the chance to meet the one doing the hiring right then and there. What happened to the old saying about first impressions counting for something??? Everything is online now. Don't get me wrong, I love my Internet, I love cruising the net for different and interesting things to read or see.

But I feel that when you are looking for a job you meet the person, get that first impression, feel them out. The Internet is a cold place to find a real person to work for you. I know, I know, everyone is doing it. Well, how about being the ones not following the trend. How about being there in person, go over the job application/ resume, talk, shake hands? Well that's my thought of the day. Companies...stop the impersonal job hunts, see me in person, talk with me, shake my hand give me a damn job. Not my online job application.

PEN #79

Save a life today and you will have a friend for life. Have you been to a shelter lately? There are so many hopeful faces looking out the cages at you. Are you able to walk by the cages without your heart breaking?

I know I can’t. In 2003 I saw a dog in the paper from the Virginia Beach animal control for adoption. My husband and I kicked the idea around for a week and finally he asked me to call them just to find out about her. To them she was pen# 79. I asked about her and the lady I was talking to told me ‘’Oh, she’s scheduled to be euthanized tomorrow at 5:00’’. She said this to me like it was nothing.

I hung up the phone and told that to my husband. He said call them back, have them put our name on her and go pick her up. I took my son with me and off we went to get our girl, pen #79.

As we walked past the cages the dogs barking and wagging their tails saying to us’’ pick me, pick me’’, we came upon pen #79. There she was in the far left corner of the cage curled in a ball. She had given up, she knew she was close and it was like she didn’t have any hope left. We got her out and paid $10.00 for her because she had been adopted out and brought back. I didn’t ask why, because I didn’t care, she was coming home with me.

So pen # 79 became Kristina Rose. She became one of the family that day; she became my son’s best friend that day. We lost her last year, but we know she had spent the rest of her years well loved and happy.

Here are some facts about how many dogs/cats put down every year. This MUST be changed; we need to do better by these animals. We put them here. What are your thoughts about this? Email me at deborahrasnick@yahoo.com .

Using the National Council's numbers from 1997 and estimating the number of operating shelters in the United States to be 3,500 (the exact number of animal shelters operating in the United States does not exist), here are the statistics:

* Of the 1,000 shelters that replied to the National Council's survey, 4.3 million animals were handled.
* In 1997 roughly 64% of the total number of animals that entered shelters were euthanized -- approximately 2.7 million animals in just these 1,000 shelters. These animals may have been put down due to overcrowding, but may have been sick, aggressive, injured, or suffered something
else.

* 56% of dogs and 71% of cats that enter animal shelters are euthanized. More cats are euthanized than dogs because they are more likely to enter a shelter without any owner identification.
* Only 15% of dogs and 2% of cats that enter animal shelters are reunited with their owners.
* 25% of dogs and 24% of cats that enter animal shelters are adopted.
It is from these numbers that we estimated what is occurring nationwide. It is widely accepted that 9.6 million animals are euthanized annually in the United States.

Oh No, the Old Lady Pants!!!

Okay, as I get older each day. I know, I know, so does everyone else. I often wonder while I’m trying to get dressed, what are other people my age are wearing. Are they still in jeans or have they went on to wear ‘’the old lady pants’’? You know what I’m talking about….the elastic pull on ones. I myself haven’t gotten to that point, but I see some that makes me think, huh, they’re not that bad looking. Wait. Did I just say that?
What I’m saying is that the ‘’old lady pants’’ aren’t so old anymore. They are more fashionable. The times are ah changing. I have always worn jeans and the dress pants for that special occasion. I remember times shopping and I would see a pair of ‘’old lady pants’’ and think I hope I never have to resort to these things. You see the ‘’old lady pants’’ just doesn’t make your butt look good. What? You mean when you put a pair of jeans or slacks on you don’t turn this way and that way to check out your butt in the mirror.
Well, I have to say that I do. Are those ‘’old lady’’ pants going to make me turn this way and that way to check myself out in the mirror? I don’t know if they will or not. I haven’t gotten up the nerve to try a pair on yet. I went to visit my mother a couple weeks ago and her eldest sister was visiting and she’s in her late 70’s and she had on a pair of jeans. I was like, dang aunt Tine you have a butt. Where’s your ‘’old lady’’ pants? She said’’ they are too old for her’’. So... I have decided to stick with my jeans for a while. Maybe when I get older than my aunt Tine I’ll just go try on a pair!!!
